Unlike larger shop vacuums, this portable option does not have a drainage port, so you do have to remove the entire top and motor of the vacuum to empty wet and dry contents.
We don’t recommend filling this vacuum to the brim with liquid or wet debris, as it may have a smaller wet capacity than its total 2.5 gallons. Once we swapped in the foam wet filter, this vacuum easily sucked up water, but we’re not sure how much liquid it can hold. We will point out that this vacuum isn’t great for removing hair from carpet-although that isn’t its original purpose-and it’s also not suited for fine dust, unless you purchase a fine dust filter separately.
